A walk through the monumental esdorp Orvelte gives the visitor the feeling to go back in time. One gets an impression of how people in the nineteenth century lived and worked in the villages in Drenthe.

In Southwest Drenthe is a special nature reserve: National Park Dwingelderveld. In national parks nature management and development center. Biking and hiking trails, nature trails and equestrian trails offer you the opportunity to discover nature.

Over more than 150 years,The Drents Museum in Assen is a household name in Drenthe. It is a leading museum that annually organizes high-profile and successful exhibitions about archeology, figurative art and Art Nouveau / Art Deco.

Memorial Center Kamp Westerbork. In Drenthe is a place with a history. Here the lives of one hundred thousand Dutch Jews are held in memory. On the grounds of Kamp Westerbork with reconstructions and monuments, and in the museum.

Gallery Wildevuur. The location, the estate Hiemstra State, is in one word idyllic. But above all is the impressive collection of figurative art that makes the acquaintance memorable.

Golfclub ‘the Gelpenberg ” is one of the finest golf courses in the north of the Netherlands. A beautiful 18-hole golf course, PAR-3 course with six holes and a spacious clubhouse. Other golf courses nearby are Golfclub Martensplek in Tiendeveen and the Drentsche Golf & Country Club in Zeijerveen.

WILD LANDS Adventure Zoo Emmen. No less than 22 hectares of Dutch landscape has been transformed into a new world where animals and theme’s go hand-in-hand. Thousands of exotic plants imported from Latin America has created the largest indoor jungle of the world “Jungola”. Step into the boat ride on the River Rimbula and come very close to acrobatic spider monkeys and majestic elephants.
